Hello All,
It is a pleasure to join this board. Lots of great information and great folks.
About me:
I retired from the military in 2008 and have been working as a federal civil servant for the last 4+ years. Due to some significant life events (SLEs) I have decided to
escape leave the confines of federal employment when I turn 51 if not before (I am 50 now).
I am single and live below my means.
My plan is to take some time off to clear the fog of work. Eventually return to school, since I have a benefit that will pay for all of it to include a tax free housing stipend ~14K annually.
I am also a musician in which I make some side income from and would like to expand that area of my life.
My co-workers at the federal prison place of employment think this is insane but I feel at this stage of my life it is time to go and pursue other things in life.

The question: Are my co workers correct? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, FOAD
