Hello from Montana. I just turned 40. My wife and I own a PT clinic and I work as an engineer. 4 kids in the home - last one out in 14 years. Looking to be financially independent when the last one is gone. Maybe that doesn't sound like early retirment - but my dad is still working at 70 with no plans to stop.
Not necessarily looking to quit work, just do whatever job/hobby I want. Current assets are basically totaling 1.2 mil - 200K in IRAs, 200K in business value, 500K in commerical property, 300K house. Still owe on house and commerical property - but they will be paid off in 12 years by the time the youngest leaves the house. Overall goal of 2 million in clear assets by then with multiple streams of income.
