You're young. An inheritence could be decades away. Without the rice farm, and maybe even with it, you're quite aways away from being able to retire.
I think with the new healthcare plan going into effect soon she's guaranteed coverage but it won't be cheap. Expect your $2k/mo to go to at least $3k/mo.
