Hello there

Hi all, I've been lurking here for a little while and have found lots of useful info (plus some really funny stuff as well!)

About a year ago I quit my job as an attorney to follow my husband across the country (to Seattle) with his job. I don't mean to make it sound like a hardship on me because it isn't. I'M SO HAPPY! My only problem is that I'm in my mid 30s and everyone (family, friends from old state) assumes that I'm going back to work or trying to have a baby, but neither is the case, I'm just being a happy bum.

My main focus now is saving money and structuring our assets so that DH can quit (can't quite get that word "retire" to roll off the tounge as he is only in his 30s as well) within the next 2 years.

I especially relate to Jay_Gatsby and his live in the now like a lawyer in a big firm is expected to vs. the save every dime mentality. It is so much easier now though since I've moved most people just know me as the new gal with the dogs, not a corporate attorney, very liberating I must say.

Re: Hello there

Hi Shiney and welcome!
It's not that hard to get that 'retired' word out, it just takes some practice. DW and I FIREd at 36, two years ago and it's been great. I can't imagine having to get up and go to the office every morning.

Keep reading the board, you'll get the idea...
