Hi from 96 degree Lincoln NE

OK, Here's the thing. I am an X-Federal Employee with a TSP (401K). I retired at the end of 2011. My pay has finally been straighted out so I can move my 401 out of TSP? Is that a good idea or not? $150K is not a huge amount and it has grown $10K since Jan. 1.2012 {7.4%}. With the economy...etc. I don't need it (immediately) with my retirement, maybe in 5 or more years down the road.
Anyone have any experience moving their 401k? Easy? Difficult?
Thanks

The TSP is the best set of index funds on the planet. You should move your IRAs into the TSP, not your TSP out.

I recently transferred a portion of my IRA's to TSP. In terms of guaranteed return you cannot match the G Fund anywhere. I have never invested in bond funds. My TSP G Fund takes that place.

Hi Nick, I grew up mostly in Lincoln and still have family there. Sorry, I've got no help on your questions.
