How the heck do ya' get started with the paperwork to early retirement?

I know how to prepare. Done that the best I could. Being forced to retire early helped that out just fine. I am 43 and baffled on the details. Anyone able to show me a less confusing image of it all...?

Thanks...

Just about all of us have started where you are now, and there are many different ways to make an ER work. Best of all, for every 10 posters you'll get a dozen different answers, and some of them might even be right for you!

Tell us which paperwork you're looking for. Retiring from the military or civil service? Rolling over a 401(k) or doing a 72(t)? Finding COBRA medical insurance? Transferring assets from one brokerage/fund company to another?

Not all of these things necessarily apply to every ER, but they're all long threads that have been discussed in other places. In addition to giving us more details, you can search other threads using the keywords you're looking for.
