Hi folks, been lurking for a few months on the site, good stuff. My wife and I are in the home stretch to FIRE. We both turn 45 this month and plan to pull the plug at 55, unless we can get to $5M sooner. Any thoughts, ideas, anything we need to be thinking about are greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum. As far as what you should be thinking about, Nords did a great job of summarizing here.

Hi serie1926 and welcome aboard.

$5M by 55 -- that's an impressive goal, and it will be an impressive accomplishment. Do you have some pretty serious spending planned in retirement?

Coach, not really, just don't want to be uncomfortable. I figure this should give us around $150k/yr.
