I might be too old for ER!

Single, 57, trying to make sure that I CAN retire someday! Some money in mutual funds, house will be paid off in 5 years, but I am afraid I might have to keep working til I keel over.

(At least my retirement planning goes beyond looking for a rich old man!)

Never too late for that. All in all, not really a plan but an opportunistic possibility that should never be discounted.

Hi, and welcome to the Early Retirement Forum.

You're not too old at all for ER! Many of us plan to retire or retired in our 60's (as I did). Keep working and planning and saving, and you will get there one day.
