Last Day Was Last Friday!
Hi everyone,
I am officially FIRE'd! Told my boss and the team two months ago my last day would be February 5th and I stuck to it. Definitely a surreal last day, from the time I walked in at 8:00 am till the time I walked out.
Unfortunately I couldn't post this more "real-time" as my wife's mom passed away last week and the funeral was Saturday. She took it very hard as they were quite close.
Just wanted to say a big "THANK YOU" to everyone here for all of your helpful advice and I can't wait to spend more time here in the future. I've mentioned this forum to many of my co-workers so hopefully we will continue to grow.

Sorry for your loss, that is just another reminder that life is short and helps reinforce your decision to retire while you can still enjoy the time you have left.

Congratulations on your retirement!
And of course, I am also so sorry to read about your mother-in-law's passing. That's so tough on both you and your wife, and what a difficult way to begin retirement.
Retirement will get better, in time.
