Hello everyone!* I registered today after a few months of hopping around the site.

I am married, 45, with a daugther 17.* I plan on ER no later than 53, but I could go sooner if the opportunities present themselves.* I think that age 48 is realistic.

I actually started planning ER in my 20's, and established some financial goals.* Now that those goals are close to being realized, I have spent the last year focusing on my targets, including some of the "soft side" goals, such as what am I going to do, etc.

Here are our specifics on the financial side:

839K* Net Worth

549K* 401k
* 90K* Home Equity
* * 6K* IRA
194K* Pension - Present Worth

Thank you for all of your great posts that have inspired me to this point, and I welcome any advice that anyone has.*

Hi, 48. Since you asked for advice . . . do everything you can to keep your health up and your body mass index down, so that you can get medical insurance after you quit the job.

Thanks for the tip! I plan to do that with my "transition" to ER. In other words, I stop skipping excercise because I am too tired from working.
