New w/ stupid question...

Can someone tell me what the whole dryer sheet thing means? Sorry - but I'm missing it...

Welcome to the board, BH.

The "Search" feature lets you track down phrases like that, but SG did the work for you. Dryer sheets are an inside joke started by an innocuous comment from fire5soon: "I cut my dryer sheets in half to make the box last longer (although I could line dry my clothes...)."

BMJ then incited more posts, made up a logo, and so on... at http://early-retirement.org/forums/i...hp?topic=620.0

I don't use dryer sheets.

It is not something that can be conveyed in words. It is metaphorical in nature and can only be truly comprehended after careful reflection and observation. To reveal the clandestine nature of the dryer sheet "thing" to such a new initiate could cause lifelong harm.
