I've been a long time lurker and thought it was time I introduced myself. I'm
in my mid 30's, married with kids and live in a large US city. By most measures, we have done a respectable job of building our nest egg but retirement is still a daydream. To pay the bills, I work in the investment field (no worries, I get paid for my analysis not my sales) and I am fortunate that I like my job.

I have enjoyed the collective wisdom of the board and find solace in the kindred spirits here who 'get it'.

I invest in individual securities (equity and debt), mutual funds, options
and I'm also a small-time landlord. I look forward to chiming in from time to time now that I've been properly introduced!

Hi, zeb, and welcome. What sort of investment analysis do you do? I am a credit and sometime equity analyst on the buy side. We also have a portfolio manager (saluki) and a cfp who has moved to an RIA (financedude) and likely some others that escape me.

A joke (which you've probably heard before):

What's the difference between buy side and sell side?

Buy side says "eff you" and hangs up the phone.

Sell side hangs up the phone and then says "eff you."

There are also the clueless rubes here as well.;) So on behalf of the rubes, I give you a big welcome!:) I look forward to reading your posts on investment ideas.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm in HY credit and some structured finance, been doing equities in my own account for years. By the way, I've enjoyed your posts during my lurking days, always insightful.

Thanks Dawg. We are all clueless rubes regarding something, I've learned a lot reading through the archives.
