For me it is helping to think back to what I loved to do when I was young. I did some hiking/walking in local wild spaces. I was very involved in musical activities. I'm doing that now, with much greater appreciation of my interest in these things.

Thinking back reconnected me with my cousins and with old friends and the music that I listened to.

Look for the things that inspired you when you were more easily inspired. Try something new.

The sky is the limit, but making a list of things to do and pick no more than three. Too much choice is paralyzing. Be conscious of developing a new routine.

Great Thread! Eileen I also ask myself a similar question. I've read a couple books and I like the one Retire happy Wild and free,as it spoke to me in a way i understood. I started a diagram of options for my retirement and added lots of stuff. It's a pleasing exercise you may want to try!
My spouse is a bit more concerned with how to spend time but I think between the two of us, we can do things together and also pursue individual interests. I'm planning to be "able" to ER Jan/Feb 2016, spouse ER target Jan/Feb 2017.
