Funny....I Facebook friended a German with my exact first and last name, then he started posting some really racist stuff and my other "Friends" thought it was me!I have a very close friend in Scotland. Actually, we haven't yet met, and wouldn't recognize each other if we came face to face, but we share the same first and last name. For some reason he thinks my gmail id is his, because he uses it to subscribe to various Scottish web sites. Scottish Ancestry, a teacher's improvement program, a football club. It was fun until he started subscribing to Scottish porn sites...
I also found out how tricky friending those with my exact name can be. My doubles were all in Germany or Switzerland, and although they were not racist they certainly were accustomed to a more adventurous sex life than I. People were starting to wonder about what I was getting into. Must be some amazing club scene in the larger northern cities of these two countries.Funny....I Facebook friended a German with my exact first and last name, then he started posting some really racist stuff and my other "Friends" thought it was me!
When I was working in Dumfries (SW Scotland) I had lots of funny interactions, many to do with accents, but my favorite was with a colleague who was from Glasgow. His name was Julian and one day he was telling me a story concerning himself and his brother in a pub in Glasgow. He said that his brother said to him, "Peter, we need to leave". I asked why his brother called him Peter and he replied that being called Julian could be a death sentence in a Glaswegian pub
