Where we're at

Me 34, wife 31, Dink, no plan for kids, good, stable jobs. Both on the same page about ER. I want to quit megacorp by 55, and do something more flexible/fun/meaningful. I love what i do, but hate the constraint of 50 hour weeks with 4 weeks vacation.

Combined income of 250,000 US
combined 401 k of 150k
Rollover IRA 80k
Roth 401 12k

25% pre-tax savings annually (last 2 years, and going forward.)
401 K maxed with 6% match (this year doing 401 Roth 10% and 401 for the rest to increase amount put away.)
45k in discounted company stock (must hold for two years, will diversify as my purchases mature, buy 10% of salary annually.)
Student loan debt 105k @ <5%
330k mortgage (20% equity)

If I work for megacorp till 55, get defined benefit pension and health...20 years seems like forever. May quit earlier if i can hit 5 mil in todays dollars, but like to live a little now too, decent car, 2-10 day vacations a year on the discount.

Scooby, welcome to the forum! That's a great savings rate -- keep that up and you should end up with lots of choices.

If you haven't tried plugging your numbers into FIRECalc (link above), you should.
