2013 NFC AFC Playoffs

The Seahawks have been playing quite well ever since the start of the regular season. The few games they lost were always by only one score, which they might have won but for a missed field goal, a dropped pass, or a bad coaching decision. They never loss a game this season by any "blow-out" margin, but instead won some at the end of the regular season by wide margins. (See the Hawks' Season Recap here.)

Thus, but for a handful of plays, they could easily have been the No. 1 NFC seed in these playoffs instead of Atlanta. Plus, the Seahawks faced, and beat, tougher opponents this season than did NFC No. 1 Seed Atlanta. (See Atlanta's Season Recap here.)

With all the above said, this weekend playoff game between the Seahawks and the Falcons promises to be a doozy.

Go Hawks!

Or maybe played well enough for the first half of the season, and peaking at the right time - going into the playoffs. Russell Wilson could have a big career, and I expect Atlanta will have their hands full...

Out of the past 11 rematches in playoffs with teams that got waxed by 28 or more points in last 4 weeks of the season, the losing team won straight up in 7 of those against the team they had been previously smoked by. Possible bad omen for the Pats (who the Jets did this too, a couple years ago), and Broncos (who won easily a few weeks ago vs. Ravens). I went 4-0 on playoffs and had a nice winning weekend in Vegas. Couldn't resist losing a small amount of my lucky profits, by putting a few small wagers before I left just to hold my interest. A 2 team ML parlay Ravens and Pack, $100 to win a $1000. I'm not holding my breath on it, but if you parlayed Broncos and 49ers for a $100, it would barely win you a $100, so what the heck. I took Atlanta straight up, only because Seattle is the obvious upset choice of the four games.

I don't bet. But as winners this weekend I'm picking Broncos, 49ers, Patriots and Seahawks.

I remember back in the day of w*rk and the weekly football pool, this one woman (she was a better) would purposely pick all the upsets each week. She'd win the weekly pool a couple of times each year. But the cumulative points she didn't fair that well.

DW won't be happy, but today's Power Rankings are:

1 Denver
2 New England
3 San Fran
4 Atlanta
5 Green Bay
6 Houston
7 Seattle
8 Baltimore
...
I'll be rooting for the 49er's in a half hour. I'll only take credit for a win. :)

Ravens kicker Tucker just sent Peyton and co. home for the year. Fantastic game.

Ha

Yeah and I was away so I DVRd it and the recording ended before the best part. Waiting for halftime of the GB/SF game to see the highlights. A bit of a shocker for me but Ray Lewis gets another game.

Pack trailing at half but get kickoff. I'm still alive for my 100 to win 1000 miracle money line parlay on Ravens/Packers. Been good entertainment even if it doesn't hold up.

What's the difference between Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning? Tim Tebow has won a playoff game in Denver.

Exciting game to watch.

Denver v. Baltimore. All I can say is "wow".
Yeah, with some 30 seconds or so to go to end the game, Denver ahead by 7 points, Baltimore near their 30-yard line, 3rd down and 3, with no time-outs left--it looked pretty bleak for the Ravens. Then that long pass for a Ravens' touchdown to put the game into double overtime. Wow!

Yes it was. Packer/Giants game pretty good too. Goes good with my med's. ;)

If you think you're watching a Packer/Giants game then maybe you've had enough meds:LOL:

I will now take full credit for the 49er win.

Sorry to Packers fans. :greetings10::angel:

P.S. I try not to get too emotionally involved in these games as I don't like to loose. So I've decided to only go with the winners. I do the same thing with stocks.:blush:

So much for a Manning/Rodgers showdown in the superbowl.

The Broncos got Tebowed by Flacco. How the heck did they let the game go to OT?

Just as a suggestion.... ALWAYS add an hour to a football game an you should get the whole game and any potential overtime... I learned that last year on a game I wanted to watch....

So much for predictions..... I had the Packers and Broncos winning. As for today I have the Seahawks and Patriots. I'm hoping my PATS prediction comes through but after the Broncos loss yesterday one never knows. Both PATS and Texans will have the added motivation to host the Ravens with a win.

Houston fans watched that play with mixed emotions.

On one level, we were thrilled to see Baltimore tie to keep alive the chance of a Texans home game for the AFC Championship if we can pull off a surprise against the Pats.

However, the receiver was Jacoby Jones, the former Texan. He was essentially run out of town for inconsistency over two seasons, with the catalyst being fan anger over a brain-freeze punt return fumble in the game that knocked the Texans out of the playoffs last year. Against who? The Ravens.

On the other side of the ball, Holiday is also a former Texan. He had a good preseason and started this season looking pretty good. Then they let him go after 3 or 4 games.

It's tough to watch big plays coming from players that were cut from the hometown team.

I'm hoping my PATS prediction comes through but after the Broncos loss yesterday one never knows.

Well, if the Texans do win it is unlikely that it will be because of a spectacular punt or kickoff return!

I picked the 49ers. But like most everybody else, I picked the Broncos. Glad I don't bet.

Agree - I know better and usually do that but I was away from home and asked DS to DVR it and forgot to relay to him that little nuance.

Wow, Denver and Green Bay both lost. Good thing I'm not a gambler, I would have lost both. Patriots better win today or DW will be
