Sarah, looks like a 59 or 60 Buick, so you were in your teens at that time and your still working?

You're killing me, 73! I graduated high school in 1988 and dammit, yes, I'm turning 40 this year.

That is an awesome car for sure. I always swore I wouldn't get nostalgic for the sucky 80s music of my teens, but dang if I don't seem to know all the words when I (rarely) listen to the radio and some old REM or Violent Femmes song comes on.

I'm even contemplating an 80's cover band for our St. Pat's party this year...eeek!

I was looking at this and realized that many of the girl singers I really liked in my younger years were not in a group so I thought I would post a couple for comparison.

I like the way Dion did it better but good for a change. One of the best Rock & Roll songs ever.

I like all these girl group ones. These all have swing beats, which I like. The words pretty much put me to sleep, but I never listened to the words anyway.

Good selection 73!

I've never heard the Crystals, Blossoms, and the Ronnetts all on one video. Phil Spector was a genius, too bad he ended up an AH.

Not a girl group but Millie did a lot of songs. This was an oldie in 1973 but it was in color so I thought it would look better.

TLC did some good videos. You can see the influence the 60s groups had on them. Waterfalls, from 1994, was one of their best.

Gotta love Ronnie Spector, here she is about 50 years after the fact. Still sounds good even through the real Ronettes are gone.

Not a girl group but I do like the song so I posted it. I did a little research and the blonde in the back is DeDe Mollner who danced for the famous Gazzarri Dancers. Her Dad was the captain of the 1936 Olympic Mens Basketball team. DeDe danced on many many videos which can be viewed on the Gazzarri Dancers web site. I'll try and find the link and post it. She is the only one doing the Mashed Potatoes correctly. I have no idea what dance the rest of the dancers are doing. I emailed DeDe and she responded stating she is living in Mexico and enjoying life. Oh yeah, she is easy on the eyes.

Here's the link. http://www.gazzarridancers.com/
