Re: A House, not a Home

With regard to the size of new houses, the May issue of Smart Money magazine has an article about the growing popularity of "smaller" middle-class luxury homes. Their use of the adjectives smaller and middle-class is relative, though. The first example they cite is a couple in Florida who traded down from a 4,700 square-foot home into "a new, $565,000 Spanish bungalow that's a modest 2,900 square feet." Not exactly the size or price range that comes to my mind when I think of a bungalow. While the article never actually defines what they consider to be small, all the houses mentioned are between 2000 to 3000 square feet. Quite a step up from my 1000 sq ft condo.

Re: A House, not a Home

I remember the days when a family of 5 living in a 10 x 10 ft room, sharing one bath room and a kitchen with 7 other families.

I am sure I do not want to live that way again.

May we live in peace and harmony and be free from all human sufferings.
