As part of the prep for retirement, my wife and I bought each other an "Activities Calendar". Some typical entries may be:
a) date night
b) go to Costco
c) fishing
d) Sally's BD party
e) Dr. Martin, 11:30
Tha catch is that we can only schedule on the Other's calendar - not our own. This leads to some interesting alternative meanings:
a) becomes "I'm choosing, you're buying"
b) "Bring the truck. There is a sale at Macy's and we need fertilizer"
c) "Get out of my hair and don't be back before sunset. I'm baking today"
d) "Ugh. You're driving. I'm having a cocktail first"
e) "I told him you're overdue to PokeThePipeUpThePooper"
We find both practical and whimsical fun in scheduling.
