What year Rich? You don't remember Sewanhaka, couldn't get much closer. I know that's because you weren't into space studies. (heh)

sorry about my obscured comment. it really was just that as little as i take myself seriously, i took my education even less so. i didn't want school. i wanted to join a kibbutz first. i knew at 18 that i wasn't ready for university. but my parents went haywire and so i went off to college. i was on the 10-year, 4-year degree program. the resource would have been better spent on someone else.
when i finally got a little seroius and landed in school in boca (of all the odd places), the curriculum so did not coincide to the promise of the catalogue that by the time i was leaving we had the state certification committee there evaluating our department. i was a witness against the college. we succeeded in forcing the university to correct their catalogue to reflect the actual available classwork.
so for all those years that i took school as a joke, when i finally got serious, seemed the joke was on me.

University of Evansville, BS in BA - flunked out after the first year, spent most of the class time playing 9 ball, and Canasta at penny a point. Went back after they institued an amnesty program where all failing and D classes were removed, and you could repeat or take new ones for your major, took classes at night and weekends to end up with a 10-year, 4-year degree progam as well, and ended up having the professor tape several of our class presentations as examples of setting the high bar for future classes.
Oh, not that I think it could be the reason for my lack of initial attention, but UofE also achieved notoriety of sorts, during freshman year, as the school that had it's entire basketball team and coach wiped out in a plane crash. Sometimes you just thank God that you didn't make the team.

Did both degrees completely at night while working full time. Megacorp paid for pretty much all of it, except for books. When they did not seem to appreciate my accomplishment, I quit and took my degrees elsewhere.
