I thought Colton kicked a$$ on "Piano Man". Sanchez is going to be a top 3 too, Joshua didn't do well on Billy Joel night, but he is a good performer/singer.

I really liked Colton's performance, too.
Colton might end up showing us even more as the show continues. It seems to me that sometimes an individual contestant will really blossom as the show continues, with all the advice and superstar grooming in appearance, singing, and performing that they get, and he might be one of those.
I agree about Joshua.

Word has it this week's theme is songs from the contestant's idols and the guest mentor is Stevie Nicks.
Meanwhile, check out this audition performance from Britain's got talent. It's causing quite a sensation in the UK!

I haven't watched AI this season. Partly because it seems like every year it seems like Britain's got talent finds these amazing opera singers in the most unlikely bodies and AI doesn't.
Not sure what is is about England that produces the Susan Boyles, and before that cell phone salesman.

One thing that is different about American Idol from Whatever Country Got the Talent is that they have to choose a song to sing from a limited number of selected songs and have to make it their own. I don't know if making the contestants go through that really proves anything, but it's just the way it is. I would think they could probably do a much better job if they sang songs that they had been practicing singing all their lives (Heejun was excellent with some of the songs he sang in auditions.), but what's the fun in that?

I'd like to see it come down to Elise, Jessica, and Hollie, with Joshua as the wild card.

Great night. Other than a couple duds, they are all so good it is hard to make a decision.

Not in our family, all 4 of us conceived in the warm weather, but the house had no heating except for a coal fire in the main room downstairs, plus no running water in the house. Maybe these days it's different

+1 They all seemed so good tonight. I don't know who I liked best.

Never thought I'd see Led Zeppelin performed on AI. And by a girl no less. That was really great. Elise Testone showed something. Doubt she will make the finals but that was good stuff.
I also liked Phillip Phillips and Colton Dixon. Hollie is cute.
Don't care for Skylar Laine. She gets my vote to depart.

Before Deandre and Jeejun? They are both dreadful.
While I agree that Skylar isn't in the top echelon of the remaining contestants, IMO she is miles ahead of those two clowns.

Both, and no 'less' about it:
Haley did a cool job on this, and her Dad really handled the Les Paul.
Song starts ~ 1:20

No objection to either of those leaving. Especially Deandre.

+1 Now that you mention it, Deandre probably should be the next to go. His recent performances have been disappointing.

I'll go further, he should have been among the first to go. I can't stand all that falsetto. It's not even good falsetto. I can't imagine why the judges say anything good about him.
But remember, IMO there is no point in getting hung up on who stays and who goes. The votes are determined by whoever texts the most (mostly 12 yo girls I assume), no real reflection of quality. So when I watch, it is to hopefully catch a good performance (of which there were a surprising number last show). If they get voted off, they get voted off. If they are good, they'll make a career outside of AI. Like Jennifer Hudson (amazing talent), and even Kelly Pickler (OK, not amazing like Hudson, but she was really, really good at times, super-cute/personable, and she is doing well in her niche).

Elise kicked it big time on Whole Lotta Love. This was one of the best Idol shows in a long time and I gotta give some props to Stevie Nicks.
In addition to Elise, Haley did a great job on a Zep song as already mentioned. Then there was this from season 8...
Sad to see Heejun go but he went out with class. Great final performance from him.
