An acquired taste?

Baby Gaga ice cream now available in London. Made from ..... human breast milk.

Human milk ice cream goes on sale | Life and style | guardian.co.uk

Flavored with vanilla and lemon zest at only 15 pounds sterling per 10 ounces.

I wonder, is more than a mouthful still considered a waste?

Despite its unusual ingredient, the company said the "organic, free-range and totally natural" product sold out when launched today.

I had a lunatic roomate in college who classified his date's breast size by units that he invented, Henries. A full mouthful = one Henry.

Roomies used to sit around guessing about the others' dates' Henry quotient. Then of course there was the relativism introduced by one's own mouth size. It could get quite involved.

I never fetishized breasts so this entire issue left me more or less bewildered. I also often felt it was more than a little disrespectful, other days it seemed merely diverting.

My Brazilian friends used to shake their heads in wonderment at this aspect of American men's interests. They tend to be interested in the other end. I have to admit that there is great charm in the sight of a swaying bikini walking away from you. I think that was the inspiration for the song "The Girl From Ipanema."

Not to derail the thread, but the use of one's own body parts as a unit of measurement has a storied history.

Consider, for example, the "Smoot"

The smoot is a unit of length, defined as the height of Oliver R. Smoot — who, fittingly, was later the president of the ISO. The unit is used to measure the length of the Harvard Bridge. Canonically, and originally, in 1958 when Smoot was a Lambda Chi Alpha pledge at MIT (class of 1962), the bridge was measured to be 364.4 smoots, plus or minus one ear, using Mr. Smoot himself as a ruler. At the time, Smoot was 5 feet, 7 inches, or 170 cm, tall.

Smoot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Protagoras said "Man is the measure of all things."

The history of measurement based on body parts goes back long before that. I recall being taught that a yard was the measurement between the tip of the nose and the forefinger of an early King Henry of England.

History of measurement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The problems with this are:
1. Where is King Henry when you need him?
2. Body parts vary in size.

Eventually a physical gold standard became the norm.

What's next..... human cheese?

The economy must be improving... people pursue frivolous or absurd business ventures.

The cost is approx $40/pint. Sound like a venture that is going to go places?

I've heard that you can pay to experience the life of a farmer by getting to milk cows. I wonder how much more they could charge for getting to milk something a little less...four-legged.
