An Unusual Milestone

Two of our good friends recently celebrated 75 years of marriage. We look to them as a model and a hope for the future. Thought you might appreciate a success story... another early retirement that turned out well. Kelly and Helen are very active, excellent bridge players and totally enjoyable as a couple. Kelly leads our Friday discussion group. Makes local history come alive.

Hope the link works... The local paper is a bit stingy about online access. There's a utube video link in the article.

Still the one, 75 years later (VIDEO) - LaSalle News Tribune - LaSalle, IL

Very nice. Link worked fine. I chuckled at this :

“She’s right; she’s always right,” he said. “That’s no kidding. If we have a little disagreement I find out she’s always right.”

“Not always,” Helen said, “but most of the time.”
Prudent man!

I could not get the link to get me to the story, but I googled it and could read it and see the video.

They seem to be a delightful couple. I like how he said if he had been able to pick her out of a catalog, he would not have picked anything differently. How sweet. I also liked how he retired early and they were able to travel together!

They definitely are people to model. Thanks for sharing!
