any one else read this... (Radical Simplicity)

Pretty kooky on a lot of stuff, but an interesting read nonetheless.

Yeah, interesting read....I have thought about some of this....but not sure that I would go to such extreme but simplicity has its merits

That was interesting to read. Not that I would do it that way, but it is very interesting to read. If the house shown in the photos is the one they built in the woods, (I was skimming) it looks pretty comfortable.

two thoughts:
1) to each his/her own
2) don't see anything simple about it

Brings me back to the 70s when I was a hippie person living simply. Didn't build a house in the woods or homeschool, but I did make my own yogurt, bread, granola, and baby food; got fresh milk delivered in glass bottles; lived on $4-500/month as a family of 4.

I don't know if I could do it how they do it, but I like the different perspective. Always looking for ways to potentially do something differenly.

Reminds me of 'Possum Living' which I printed out in its entirety
in case I decide to go that way. I believe 'BlackHillsBob' first posted
about it here.

According to Hemingway's third wife (Martha Gellhorn) he was
always giving away his possessions. He was generous it is true, but he was also afraid of becoming a slave to what he owned. I know the feeling well.
