Re: Anyone see the movie "300"
Took my son, he liked it. He's 20, disabled, more like a 15 - 16 year old.
Pretty much like a video game with mixture of real people and computer generated scenes (although very well done). Lots of gore. I wouldn't have gone unless my son had wanted to.

Yes...
On a scale of 1 to 10... I give it a 5. My friend gave it a 4...
Lots of blood... filmed in a different way (but I could get used to it if it was with a good movie)..
However, this will be IMO a 'Lord of the Rings' kind... you will either like it and think it is a great movie, or hate it for the cartoonish look and gore...

A good movie (on Yahoo, B+), and a somewhat fictionalized account of a great historic event, which may have had a wonderful impact on the birth of our own civilization. An account of great leaders and courageous men.
The History Channel did an excellent piece on the facts behind the battle.

Re: Anyone see the movie "300"
The movie was based upon the graphic novel "The 300". I don't go to the movies often but I had the time so I went. Most if not all of the backgrounds or sets were computer generated and you had to know what to look for in some seens to tell.
I think what is most interesting is what others have mentioned - the idea of leadership and loyality among the fighters.
What was refreshing is that there were heros - not anti-heros or slackers or failures who find themselves or magic.
Myth is not a bad thing if it helps us to be better human beings.

Re: Anyone see the movie "300"
Absolutely BRILLIANT movie. And what most critics are missing is that they weren't going for the history of the Battle of Thermopylae -- they were telling you the legend of the 300 Spartans. In that sense, they succeeded.
I'll be seeing it again.

Yep, you nailed it with that statement.

Four thumbs up. Two from a 36 yo female, two from a 41 yo male. Neither is into video games or stuff like that. Graphics were great - and I feel proud to have had my high school mascot be the Spartans I am a Spartan Woman 8)
