Not me. At least not in person. I'm still recovering from last year from the long lines and madhouse crowds. I made a conscious effort to avoid any Black Friday shopping this year. The crowds are just too packed and crowded for me.

If I do any shopping at all, that'll be from the comfort of my own home and PC :D

I might order some stuff online. Newegg usually has some specials, maybe GuitarCenter. Not going anywhere near a mall.

Nope. For the second year we are going to be far from any place with sales..

My SO works for a retail chain. They are opening their stores at 11pm on Thanksgiving and will remain open all night.

Complete nuttiness

Opening on a Holiday? The chains should at least have the courtesy to open at 12:01 am the Friday after Thanksgiving .

I avoid the malls like the plague until after the new year. Don't actually go there much during the year either.

+1

That is one day that I make sure I stay home. Most of my shopping is done online anyway.

We gave up gift giving years ago. I shop sales related to the holiday season but you couldn't pay me to do Black Friday!

I'll never forget going to Tyson's Corner, VA years ago on Black Friday and getting caught up in a traffic jam for a couple of hours. That haunts my dreams to this day.

No way. We cut way back on gift giving a long time ago.

One interesting thing though..a Scout Master came into the office today and said his troop will set up outside one of our areas busy stores at 8am on Black Friday and sell coffee & donuts as a fund raiser. Great idea!

No, never. But my son has to work at a bookstore from 11pm Turkey day to 7am Friday because the mall will be open. He figures it'll be pretty quiet there.

Nope. Never have and probably never will...but I know some women who go EARLY every year and love it! They're convinced they get deals, I believe you can get deals lots of easier ways. More power to them...

I won't shop that day, but I may go out, to a mall, to do some people watching. Folks get "shopping crazy" during the year end holidays and it is an interesting view of humanity in the US.

On second thought, I'm not going out - way too dangerous. Besides, the craziness extends to traffic and parking lots. If the weather is nice it might be a good day to go to the city...

For some of the people who say they can get a deal like the early bird.... I would disagree...

The couple of times we went we got some high end electronic stuff for $200 less than the next best price we could find... they only sold 10 of them per store and none online...

I am willing to wait in line to save $200... not so much for a few dollars...

Not me! I seldom shop in person even on normal days. I am Amazon's best friend.

Besides, my daughter will make up for my absence. She loves shopping on Black Friday, camping out all night in lines, and so on. I think part of the fun in it for her is just the idea of being there for what has become essentially an "event". She also gets some great deals, and sells what she doesn't want to make a little spending money.

Go out to a mall? Your second thought is best IMHO. Stay home baby!

I'll be home sleeping late and scarfing down Thanksgiving leftovers. I can't imagine the horror involved in going shopping that day.

Our city is offering 50% discounts from 3 to 5AM for using its recreational facilities, which are really nice. It's the first time they've done this. Do other towns have such Black Friday offerings?
