i checkpointed myself for the days of yore...i actually did quite a few of these prior to FIRE.

I looked at the 8 career strategies for the almost retired and I have just over 4 years to go. I disagree with almost all of those tasks. As I get closer, I don't feel any need to do anything more. If anything...I want to be doing less. There's too many things going on in my real life world to than to spend the energy on the stuff/fluff at the workplace. Sorry Freebird I have to give the thumbs down on this article...

no problem.
my take on it was instead of marking time, which can be excruciating, take on a new challenge and keep busy.
"retired in place" would make me nutz, unless i made the choice.
