It happen twice to me and once to one other family member, somehow facebook account is created for my web email accounts, I checked the links in emails and they are legit. I really don't want to go on facebook, is it facebook itself mining the data or one of friend want to force me in it? I am careful not to click any link in the mails though. I keep on getting emails like someone added me as a friend or whatever. I am wondering if this happened to any other person here.

I think this is something your friends do when they open up their email address books to FB for "mining". It automatically sends invitations to join/friend them on FB.
