Beefeater Bar tool

My FIL had this in his bar and I think it is related to creating a gin drink but can find nothing about it on the Beefeater site. Any ideas?

Looks like a zest tool (zester?). Useful for scraping the skin of citrus to get flavor.

Looks like it would rake lime or lemon peel zest. Maybe the sideways scoop cuts a fancy lime or lemon peel garnish.

Source: got a fancy-schmancy drink served in a martini glass a couple nights ago.

in fact - here's your tool:

Thanks all. What a great forum! I am planning on gifting it to a couple who love G&Ts.

Incidentally, it says Beefeater on it although it is mostly worn off from usage.

The "sideways scoop" is called a channel knife, used to make twists from citrus peels.
