Re: Beer drinkers, what do you like?

Great Western Brewing Company!*

A national brewer decided close to 20 years ago that they just couldn't make a buck brewing out in the Canadian prairies..so decided to close down the brewery....until the employees decided to buy them out and go on to build a canning plant (that previous owners said would be impossible to do without losing gads of money) and brew beers that have won more worldwide awards than any other brewery I know of.....

so...needless to say it's almost the only beer I drink anymore....and their Homey Wheat is fantastic.....

Only problem is that their product doesn't seem to be available outside of western Canada....so if you're travelling out here make sure to try "anything by Great Western Brewery" !!

And here's a peek at a fridge full of their award winning brews to make your mouth water!!

....I like beer, It makes me a jolly good fellow. Champagne costs too much, Whiskeys too rough, Vodka puts my mouth in gear. I like beer.......
....I drink Bud Light out of bottles when I am hot and tired. My favorite imports are Dos Equuis with Mexican food and Sapporo or Kirin with sushi.

Al,
....I played trombone all through middle and high school and my first year of college. If we were to form a duet I would leave the trombone playing to you. At my very best I was awful but I played very loud to cover it up. I will do the singing. A couple drinks and I sound great. Noone has told me that but I know it must be so.

Re: Beer drinkers, what do you like?

I like Hefeweizen beers- the unfiltered wheat beer. I have mine with a slice of lemon. Almost any brand of Hefe will do, but I like Pyramid, Sam Adams and a few others whose names slip my mind. I don't drink much beer these days, but when I do, I go for quality over quantity.

Re: Beer drinkers, what do you like?

Just in from Seattle.
Black Butte Porter is fantastic.
Sierra Nevada Pale ale is the good old standby.
Red Hook ESB has a great flavor.
For sipping, try a good Grand Cru or a barley wine.

Red Hook ESB used to be called Ballard ("Yah, sure, youbetcha!") Bitters, if I recall correctly. I loved it!

Re: Beer drinkers, what do you like?

Microbrews are my pub of choice. Always looking for a good pale ale.
Grizzly Peak (Ann Arbor) cask aged pale ale is the best I've had, but hard to get anywhere other than right there.
