Beer drinkers, what do you like?
There have been many discussions on red wine. I enjoy a glass of red wine before I call it a night. But I would like to know, what is your favorite domestic beer and your favorite imported beer? I like most light beers and usually order a bud light when I go out. I had a Red Stripe beer last night and it was very good. I was given a 12 pack of world beers for my b'day and it was included in the pack. Never had one before but I remember it being mentioned in the book 'The Firm'. BTW, do you see that beer in your area of the country?
Just thought it would be interesting to hear what beers you enjoy. Burp..............

Re: Beer drinkers, what do you like?
I usually go with Yuengling. There's a discount liquor store up the road where I can get a 24-pack of the bottles for $15.49 plus tax. Or about 65 cents per can. Yeah, I'm cheap frugal enough that I take that kind of cost into account. :P

DOG52,
Yes we have Red Stripe in my neck of the woods, the Midwest. It tasted REAL good when I had it a few years ago while on vacation at Jakes resort in Jamaica. I don’t drink beer that often any more….would much rather have a glass of red wine but …..I like Heineken, Sam Adams, and Bud.

Why the beers I brew myself, of course! Favorite style, OK lets think a moment, summer- irish red ale or cream ale, or wheat. Fall and spring, something a bit heavier maybe a scotch ale, or a nice porter, winter a stout beer will do. Anytime of the year a nice belgian trippel......Shredder

Re: Beer drinkers, what do you like?
Hey Spark0506, we ate at Jakes in Jamaica 2 weeks ago--the one in Treasure Beach. Neat place! And we drank lots of Red Stripe!
I like Yuengling, but my favorites are always IPAs. I also like Bass if drinking draft beer. I like the hoppy bitter taste of the India Pale Ales; we have a regional one called East Bay IPA, produced for one of our local brewpubs, that is excellent. It is fun to try out new ones put out by the small brewers;
but I can't stand fruity or white/cream beers. Yuck!
I prefer beer to wine and spirits; much to the chagrin of my mother!

BudLight when I'm constipated I want something, er, uh, light...
Otherwise, Dos Equiis Amber or Shiner Bock.

Re: Beer drinkers, what do you like?
Saranac Pale Ale, Sam Adams Lager, Brooklyn Brewery East India Pale Ale
Guiness
I'm not real fond of American style lagers - BudCoorsMiller. *No taste, imho.
I also brew my own. *Usually American Pale Ale or Altbier.
I just got back from a trip to England and made many visits to pubs to sample the bitters. *Fresh, cask ales are amazing. *Too bad they don't travel well in bottles.

I like dark hearty beers. Sam Adams has a few good ones.

Re: Beer drinkers, what do you like?
It's hard to beat Guinness Stout in the winter and Harps in the summer!* But I have discovered the Stevens Point Brewery in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.* Everything they make appeals to me.* We're visiting friends up there this weekend and I've decided to bring my pickup truck, despite blah mileage, so I can haul plenty back.
Stevens Point Brewery: Point Special; Point Honey Light; Point Cascade Pale Ale; Point White Biere ...
BTW.....ER is great!* Fretting over getting work related issues handled before the holiday weekend is history.* Worrying about which vehicle to drive so I can haul back plenty of my favorite brews is in.......* (OK, I really didn't worry about it....)

Re: Beer drinkers, what do you like?
My neck of the woods not so backwards after all. Just found a 6 pack of Red Stripe at the grocery store. Not cheap tho, $7.49. But hey, labor day weekend coming up. It will go good with some bbq ribs. Might as well splurge.* 8)

Re: Beer drinkers, what do you like?
I don't care for beer of any kind (gimme wine--or rum!). My husband prefers medium to dark beers and ale--he winces if light beer is mentioned or offered :P. Lately he drinks Palmetto Pale Ale (local) and Negro Mondelo (imported), but he likes to try new beers, and his favorites seem to change every couple of years.

Your probably right. But after paying $7.49, I don't want to know. Dam, $1.99. I can't find any that cheap around here. Was that at a Costco's or Sam's?

Ever notice how nobody offers any blind taste tests of beers?

Re: Beer drinkers, what do you like?
I'm picturing tasting beer as if it were wine...sloshing it around the pilsner or right in the can, sniffing it, pondering a moment, and comenting on its hoppiness with a hint of molasses. I think there's a funny commercial in here somewhere...
