Best Version of Your National Anthem

Everyone please join in. I'd love to hear great versions of national anthems from other countries. For the USA, I'd say it's hard to beat Whitney's version. It's so tragic what's happened to Whitney. But there's no denying that voice.

T/Al, I don't get it. I did a double take to see if I hit a wrong key, but no, everything went in right. Explain your post please. I've had a couple scotch and waters, but what have you had?

I like this one. Crappy camera work, but what a voice!

I had forgotten that there were 2 verses to the US national anthem. Prepare yourself for the power of the sound from my favorite vocal ensemble...guess who

Every Chicago Blackhawks home game starts with a loud rendition and a tribute to veterans

For Germany: Haydn's Emperor Quartet.

The melody was then used to put a poem of Hoffmann von Fallersleben into music.
The 3rd verse is the national anthem.

Great thread. Now I want to visit Belgium!

Here are two very different renditions of the Irish national anthem by individuals:

I am not a big fan of either artist, but I'd have to agree Whitney Houston's performance hasn't been topped. It just blew me away when I watched it live originally as it did most people evidently, partly because I wasn't crazy about her music going in.

But this is the second best IMO and the same venue...

Nobody sings the French national anthem with quite as much vibrance and conviction as Mireille Mathieu:

Ah, Mireille! She was in her heyday when I was in high school. She has aged well.....as most French women do!
