Target was the best, clear aisles, everything I wanted was still in stock at 8 exept for one thing. They had employees escorting people coming down the finishing chute to an open register. I told the lady at the register that it was my best shopping experience ever, she told me I was the 4th to say that!

Fry's was the worst, I took one look at the 1/4 mile line, winding between half the aisles of their very large store, and walked out. Guess they were having stupid good prices on HDTV's.

They still had the deal on the mp3 player the next day. So I got DW's presents all finished - stayed within the mandated budget of $100 and got 4 good to great presents! It's kind of like hunting....

The lines at Farm and Fleet were short and the staff was well prepared. A new Carhart jacket for my son, a dozen pair of leather palmed work gloves for DW and a stock watering tank for Uncle Roscoe, all at great prices, and I was out of there!

Don't laugh to hard. My Mom worked at our local F&F back in the 60's, and probably 90% (or more) of the Christmas gifts were purchased there. No joke! And that was way back when it was a REAL farm store, not like the ones today that are more like department stores. It was great for me.....loads of Ertl tractors, and Tonka and Nylint trucks...and BB guns (and I didn't even put my eye out)!

We still do a great deal of shopping there, but seldom any Christmas shopping anymore. Actually we do very little Christmas shopping in the 'brick & mortars'...online is SOOOO much easier!

Only half laughing actually...... We go to the Fleet Farm (similar to Farm and Fleet) near Steven's Point, Wis., when we're up there and I just love the place!

I can't find one around here. There used to be one in Woodstock, but it's gone. Think the building became a Harley dealership. Where is the one by you? Rockford?

Online shopping has been great this year almost everybody was offering free shipping and discounts so why would you even bother going anywhere else ?

Thanks Goonie! Looks like the Woodstock store moved from Rt 47 to Rt 14 explaining why I thought it was just gone.

Their black Friday sale flier was still on the web site and I checked it out. Fabulous deal on 50# bags of rabbit feed. Hope CFB saw that and took advantage!
