That is a big part of why we're planning on moving to a SF house in a CCRC. They do all the maintenance inside and out except for optional stuff like painting a room a different color. They'll do it but at an additional hourly rate. Seems reasonable to me.

My mother was in a CCRC, but in an apartment, and it worked out very well for her. She especially loved the part about not having to deal with home maintenance issues.

Oh, and to get back on topic you can set out a bird feeder if you want.

I heard the call to do nothing. So I answered it.

Why can't people take a tray back to their Room? Too much trouble for housekeeping? If I had to eat in a cafeteria all the time, I would die of depression.

Being herded into a dining room three times a day, seated with three random people no matter how nice they were, and served from a cafeteria tray was very hard
