I know none of you fishermen use them there store bought flies, but these be mighty cheap...

Checked out the flies. They are indeed a discount.

But I tie them for about 10 cents apiece, and it's therapeutic! 8)

Plus, there is that pricesless feeling of hooking a fish on a fly that was tied by you.

I have that beat Cut-Thoat, my friend owes me a gambling debt and is paying back with flys. He is twice the tier I am, he used to own a fly shop, so he knows what he's doing, and I'm happy to have him pay me back that way. Can't wait till spring. Steelheading is fine but nothing like a large brown rising to a dry fly, even if it's not tied by me....Shredder

BTW - So how much does each fly cost to work off the gambling debt? - I am assuming that he is getting more than 10 cents worked off per fly?

Actually we were both playing black jack, I was winning, he was losing. He borrowed several hundred, (that he lost in minutes)and I told him not to worry about when to pay back. It was all the casino's moola. Months later he came up with flies idea, as he ties professionally, AND his flies are really good, so I was happy to agree to this plan. We have not set an amount per fly, I assume he will charge retail and to tell you the truth, we're good friends and I don't really care how or if he pays back........Shredder
