Cheap PC's available at Dell outlet

I snagged my mom an AMD x2 Processor (2 ghz x 2) , 250 gb hard drive, dvd burner, 1 gb ram, etc for $279

It doesnt get much cheaper than that...and the computer's processor is NOT that antiquated....

Just figured I'd share for anyone in the market for a cheap PC

Yeah but they catch fire and bite you without provocation.

I never did tell you how happy I was in helping you work up those dell scripts and get a deal, only to have you buy a frickin AMD based machine. Grrr.

There are a lot of laptops in there and more to come. A lot of people dumped their orders when the pre-santa rosa 6400 and latitudes went on sale. More to come.

I didnt see any screaming bargains vs the 'office supply/electronics store' deals of the week without applying the scripting s/w.

I've been itching to get a new dual processor laptop with a bigger screen, but my wife would probably smack me in the face with it. "But honeyyyyy...the other nerds get new ones every year and its been TWO since I got a new one!" isnt working anymore.

Biggest problem I'm having is finding something I like that doesnt have Vista sprayed all over it.
