Re: Check Your Vehicles for Pets

I had cat sneak into a metal shed before. It was definitely over 90 each day, and possibly over 100...can't remember for sure. And the metal shed was in the sun. It was several days before I backtraced my steps and thought to open the shed...there she was. I opened the door carefully, caught her and took her inside, keeping the other animals away and letting her drink water.

But she was none the worse for wear. She drank a bit of water, scoffed at the food and was enthusiastically meowing and pacing at the window to be let back out again. Nutty cat, but tough. I didn't let her out immediately thinking she would need to recover, but after a few minutes of begging I finally let her out.

Re: Check Your Vehicles for Pets

I have the opposite problem with one of my dogs, she constantly gets out of the car when she isn't supposed to (or tries to anyway).

She wants to go for a ride (and I let her when it the sun is not out, which is a lot here in Seattle!) Anyway, when I stop to get out, like to pump gas or something, she bounds over me to jump out! I tried training her only to get out from the back, but she is not trustworthy. So, we've had to start hooking her in.

There is no way that dogs would ever get trapped in the car. I could see the minivan door thing happening to my sister's dog though.

I'm made of atoms, you're made of atoms, and we're all in this together. Ben Lee
