Dancing with the Stars - abuse of power?
I've been watching Dancing With The Stars. Brandy just got voted off. She looked great to me. Bristol Palin remains in the finals and did well for not ever being in entertainment but not better than Brandy or the other finalist.
If it is the Tea Party members keeping her in, it is an abuse of their power.
The first thing that comes to mind is that the honorable thing to do is for Bristol bow out in favor of Brandy.
Gray look like the winner at this point. If Bristol wins you could see Hollywood stars rioting in the streets.

DW and watch. Dancing in various forms is the only TV programming I watch.
The votes are for favorite dancer.
Early on did not think Bristol had much of a chance, though her last night's performance was to me, mesmerizing. IMHO Brandy being an entertainer could have done a lot better. Bristol beat her in precision most of the time. The MC gave a hint early on about unexpected results.
The votes are in.

I agree with you Dex 100%. Brandy was unfairly turned away tonight. She was a much better dancer than Bristol. I had figured it would be a shootout between Jennifer Gray and Brandy in the finals. Allowing Bristol to go the finals instead of Brandy is just plain wrong and underserved. I'm scratching my head on this one.

I agree with you about Brandy/Gray. Bruno asked Brandy to come back next week to do the freestyle. If they allow that I'm guessing she will hit a home run and the house will come down.

Only this board could politicize an eye-candy show...

And in womens tennis past why did Anna Kournikova have more tennis endorsements than Lindsay Davenport when obviously Lindsay Davenport was the more skillful player?
Ah...now I remember why I always hated the subjectivity of apprasial time when I used to w*rk

Dancing With The Stars is an abuse of many things...

What power would that be? The power to dial a phone number faster than other people? Who stays and who goes is based solely on the number of votes received. It's partially a popularity contest not just a talent contest. Just like American Idol, the worst performer doesn't always get sent home next.

Looks to me like you're the one who has politicized it. What a bunch of bs.

I have plenty of a sense of humor. I don't think the OP was atttempting humor. If this board is intent on keeping political arguments out, then it goes for all. In that regard, I'll also remove my Ronald Reagan quote from my profile. I can see it could be construed as a political statement. Fair is fair.

I had no idea so many people here watched that show. Seems pointless to me, but then again, most tv related topics do.
Whatever.

Eye Candy Show? Don't forget the season where Woz competed (actually my favorite casting choice of all time):
