...on Sigur Ros. I'm especially addicted to Vidrar Vel Til Loftarasa and Svefn-g-Englar. A bit of My Bloody Valentine, some Meddle-era Pink Floyd, and a whole bunch of other stuff (Dead Can Dance? This Mortal Coil?)

I was most fortunate to see them in concert 3 times during their Takk tour this past year - twice in Chicago and once in Indianapolis. Their sound is outstanding live, and in general, its an audience of fans who appreciate the music eough to shut the hell up during the performance. Like the early tours of Pink Floyd, you can hear the quieter segments develop.

The sound is captivating.

I imagine they are good in concert, judging from some clips available on the web. Too bad I didn't know about them when they were touring Japan a few months ago, though I probably couldn't have gone anyway.

Some of their stuff reduces me to tears on one listen, then on a different listen leaves me feeling all peaceful instead. Remarkable.

These guys love what they are doing. They're definitely not just chunking it out by the numbers.
