I recall how quickly Michael Landon died; pancreatic cancer that metastasized* to the liver.

It certainly does. I just watched it - eerie and painful to watch.

I read this somewhere else.

"If you feel sad, remember the world is 4.54 billion years old & you managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie "

I like that.

I've played several Bowie songs over the years in various bands. He's a talent that will be missed.

Yes, it could be both. I was just reading Reuters' coverage, and they also say liver cancer.

Saw him in concert in 1984. Future DW won the tickets by calling into the local radio station to identify the song of the day. Great concert.

Spinning "Let's Dance" on the turntable right now. If I had "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust", I'd play that too. He had a long and varied career, and I have enjoyed virtually all of his music.

David Bowie Singing "Imagine" on 12/8/83

Bowie talking about his friend Lennon, and singing "Imagine" on the last night of his 1983 tour, which was also the 3rd anniversary of Lennon's death.

Listening to and watching this, knowing they are both gone, is almost too painful. But it is worth it for the beauty of the song - you can see and hear the love he had for his friend.

The world will never see the likes of those two again, IMHO.
