DeBeers Class Action Diamond Suit

"This website provides information about a proposed settlement of class action lawsuits concerning the price of diamonds and diamond jewelry. The proposed settlement is currently pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. The defendants are certain companies within the De Beers Group."

https://diamondsclassaction.com/

"All persons located in the United States who purchased any diamond or diamond jewelry or other products containing gem diamonds for personal use and not for resale between January 1, 1994 and March 31, 2006. For example, Consumers include people who purchased diamond jewelry to wear or to give as a gift. "

Smells like free money - since I qualify, I applied on line.

Thanks for the link. DH sprang for a rock about 3 years ago, so I will investigate.

The only problem I have with stuff like this is that it takes so long to get the check, I forget about it.

Just another instance of people being manipulated by marketeers. "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" is a marketing slogan invented by DeBeers. Message to guys: "empty your bank account for an otherwise worthless stone or you don't love her". And almost everybody bought into it.

Exactly like Valentines Day was wholly invented by Hallmark to sell more cards in a slow season.

Stop the presses....I got my check today. $34.24. Wow...that was fast...I submitted the claim in January of 2008.

We also got a check a few days ago from American Express Litigation in the amount of $8.23. We've never had an American Express card.

'Dem checks be rollin' in baby.

I just got a check for $17.00. If I wasn't already retired, I'd retire.

I've already set the alarm clock to get up early in the morning to go shopping.

Most of it. I had paid $1200 for the ring on which I got seventeen bucks back.
