Did you ever have a lazy guilty day..
45 degrees outside grey and miserable and I could be:
1)Tilling my garden
2)Cleaning up the Greenhouse
3)Starting some lettuce seeds in the greenhouse
4)thinning out my closet
I chose however to spend the day reading, watching fishing videos on utube and relaxing until the guilt took over. The Mrs and I went to Home Depot and bought a couple hundred pounds of potting soil, cow manure, and garden soil. I still may have to hit the treadmill so I can eat my dinner without guilt. (Yes I pay for poop though it doesn’t seem quite right).
I know what the problem is: It happens every April I am desperately waiting for some decent weather and experience tells me until the 15 of April it is doubtful. Can you believe it snow flurries were in the forecast for today.
Is it just me but do you have a vitamin D deficiency too?

Watching The Masters to see if Rory can overcome the deluge. But in my defense, we are entertaining 4 people for dinner and cooking steaks and baked potatoes with Caesar salads and yummy fresh bread.
Featuring exquisite wines by Uncork from Baja Norte.

Having one today. Last week I spread 7 tons of stone & mulch. Worked on someone else house recently, installing decking, then came home and did more yardwork. Yesterday was weeding and changing the oil in the boat. Today I woke up to rain and mid 50's. Decided it was time for a day off so I've spent most of the day doing office work and watching netflix with a glass or two of adult beverages. I felt guilty for a moment or two but I've gotten over it!

Zero reason to have guilt. You get to choose how you spend your days. I wouldn't go outside for any reason if it's 45 degrees if I don't need to so I don't blame you for skipping it. I live in Wisconsin so I rarely go outside for fun until May and this year won't be an exception.

Rainey cool day here. Enjoying the Masters. I did do one thing productive, listed a couple of items on Ebay. An unusual event for me as I do that maybe every 3 years.

I have no guilt about being lazy now that I'm retired. I do exactly what I want to do.

I WISH I could do something like till up my garden! It's 25 degrees here, snow flurries, and about 10 inches of snow covers the frozen garden still. Yeah, I know it's northern Michigan, but this April weather is ridiculous, even for here. At this time of year I am itching to get outside and do some work in the yard/garden, and it looks like I'll be stuck inside for quite a while yet, if you can believe the 2-week extended forecast. I think I am definitely suffering from a Vitamin D deficiency also, as the layers of clothes I have to put on every time I do venture outside make it impossible to get any sun exposure. I'm always impatient to get outside at this time of year also, but this year is way worse than usual...........

"Lazy" has negative connotations for many. How about a "rest day" or a "recharge day". Actually a professional advised a friend to replace lazy with another term. His reasoning is that we deserve these days and the term lazy makes us feel guilty, subconsciously or not. Or maybe its just a southern thing. It's not good when we call someone lazy. And, even worse if we call them a "lazy good for nothing............."

Lazy is good with me.
"Puritan work ethic" has negative connotations though -

Vitamin D? My head's sunburned from walking around yesterday, without a hat. Took our dogs around the neighborhood. Our Maltese can't walk too far and I have to carry him after about half the mile.
Afterward DW and I went down to the riverwalk for a couple more miles. Sixty degrees, people laying out in the sun, taking dips in the 38°F river. Doesn't hurt to have a 105° spring to get back into.
Lazy? Today's gym day. Nothing lazy about that. I have a couple of goals I'm getting close to.
However if I want a lazy day, who cares?

No need to suffer up there in Pa. It's 78, sunny and beautiful a few hundred miles south. The water's warm. Jump in.

I was in Louisville Kentucky the past few days, got back last night, their weather is as bad as SW PA. Didn't lose any garden/yard days, and wouldn't have felt guilty if the weather was any better.
