Does uncle mick have health insurance?

Since he's over 65 I'm sure he has Medicare, but I think he went a few years without coverage.

Thanks for the response... Sometimes I like to day dream about a bare bones retirement. I know it is playing russian roulette to go without health insurance but it sometimes helps me keep hope alive.

There have been a lot of posts about minimalist/cheap approaches to healthcare. States have really different programs, catastrophic care may be affordable and one clever approach I remember is enrolling in a local college and getting student medical insurance. Or Mexico & some other countries have affordable medical insurance. Search around.

My uncle pays <$2000 a year for medical insurance in Thailand, and he's been diagnosed with diabetes (controlled by diet).
