What the Hell is wrong with that? *It's free enterprise.
If the Walmart "workers" don't like it they can go elsewhere. *And BTW, those overpaid officers are partly
compensated on how much they can get done for the
least expense. *That includes payroll. *Or perhaps *mainly payroll which has to be a huge number. *If I was
running Walmart and wanted to cut costs (a very
necessary activity if you are running a company)
payroll related costs is probably the first place I would look. *It's called capitalism folks. *Maybe you have heard of it. *

JG: On principal I agree with you. It would be a hard sell on this board though. (From what I have observed, there are very few people on this board that have had the gut wrenching responsibility of meeting payroll, and paying all the bills, and staying competitive enough to keep your doors open.)
Coming from a very humble background, and the only experience in Gummit service, was a 4 year hitch in the Marine Corps, and never belonging to a Union, or any other organization that was going to take care of me, I had to turn over a lot or rocks before I finally found a company that I could hitch my wagon to that would be mutually profitable for both of us.
I can never remember complaining about my income, and certainly didn't blame the company, if my salary didn't match my expectations. I turned over more rocks.
That's just the way real life works.
Somewhere along the line, as a side source of income, I started a couple of side businesses. Both were labor intensive, and I explained to anybody that I was hiring that if they were looking to support a family on the income that I was able to pay, they were in the wrong place.
We all have choices to make, and if your current situation isn't meeting your expectations, and you don't have enough drive to change the direction of where you are going in your life, look in the mirror for the answer.

Re: Don't Blame Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart's business model commoditizes everything...including "unskilled" labor. This has led to organic growth, which any new venture analysis professor will tell you is unsustainable. Wal-Mart is being rebuffed in the Northeast for several reasons, including the high price of real estate, the (relatively) higher costs of labor, and the plain damn stubborness of the locals. Is this the invisible hand at work? Time will tell.

I'd pay fifty frequent-FIRE miles to see a wrasslin' match between Ayn Rand and John Steinbeck.

WalMart may enter into the banking industry. Soon you will get low fee for banking service.
