Simple solution: Get an mp3 of a big block V8 running at high idle, roll down the windows and turn up the volume whenever you place the trans in R.

Numbers is hard.

A number of legislatures are actually considering "belling the Prius" for just this situation...

The book written on, "The Military Guide to Financial Independence and Retirement", on sale now! For more info see "About Me" in my profile.
I don't spend much time here anymore, so please send me a PM. Thanks.

Interesting thread.

I still want a Tesla, especially after looking at their very nice website.
I don't know much about the Volt, certainly not as much as the crowd here.

I do know that they screwed up the logo and usage about as much as humanly possible. I see 23 MPG and thought wow that is pathetic for the car that is trying to save Government Motors. The electric receptical is bad enough as a logo but then to use it as substitute for a zero violates just about ever logo usage beaten into my brain by attorneys and corporate ID experts. (Trust my I got a lot of beating while work with the Intel Inside group)

I agree with the take on the stupid logo. I think they assigned the "logo development project" to an electrical trainee. The logo is as important in the sales group as the name and I can't believe they bought into this. The Volt is a great name and depicts the basis of the vehicle. The new logo sucks! Nords, thanks again for the sales pitch on the Prius. You did a great selling job.

My brother has a Honda hybrid, and I have driven it. I looove it.

While at nowhere near the level of geekdom that Nords displays, my brother has not had mechanical problems, and gets very good mileage. He reported close to 45mpg when doing all the reasonable things one can do to increase mileage. (not drafting etc...)

I wonder if I could talk him into a PV setup on the back 2 acres
