We met at a bar in Paris, an unlikely location for two Aussies to hook up. I was there to go to school to learn French, he was working in Paris. On my way to the bathroom, I walked past him as he was playing darts and in his drunken stupor he gave me his phone number and offered to show me around town. I took the number and gave him a call a week later as I was feeling so lonely surrounded by couples as I strolled the streets of Paris on my own. Had the first date, hit it off like a house on fire, and the rest is history. Needless to say I never really learnt French because I skipped all my classes because I was too busy having fun every night. We were married within 6 months, it's 15 years this year and I hope we get to have many more years together.

Met at a Free ROTC BBQ because it was just before college opened so no food anywhere (neither of us big fans of the military, sorry guys). He had climbed Mount Kilamanjaro and I loved being active so invited him to visit my dorm room later on. Became good friends, got told by a mutual friend three months later that we WERE A COUPLE and we have been together for nearly 7 years. Both of us can't believe our luck since neither of us are nice gentle souls. :P Will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary in about 2 weeks. I still can't figure out what he sees in me but I am grateful that he does.

I met DW at "pitcher night" at one of my favorite watering holes. She had just gotten back from Florida from spring break, nice tan and pretty, blond hair, etc. My was quite fond of brunettes, and always dated them. However, I broke from tradition and asked her to dance even though she had blond hair.

She was not impressed by my show of attempted drinking prowess, but she begrudgingly gave me her phone number. We dated for a few years and got married.

12 years and two kids later, we're still together and get along well. It doesn't hurt that her only "vice" is buying too many clothes at 70-80%off .........I guess I can overlook that!!

I met my husband (#2) during an orientation tour of the manufacturing floor at my then new job. It was medical device manufacturing so we were all wearing labcoats and hairnets so I was looking pretty fine! I got a little bored during the tour so I picked up a rubber glove and tried to blow it up like a balloon (Howie Mandel?). Apparently, he saw my failed attempt so later in the tour he brought me a glove that he had blown up using the compressed air available on the floor. We were married 9 months later and that was 15 years ago.

I was a chemistry major and she was looking for a chemistry tutor. She got a "B" and claims she's been paying it back ever since.

We've known each other for nearly 29 years, been married for nearly 22, and lived together for nearly 20... I can still make her laugh and snort beverages out of her nose.

We were at a party, friend of one of my friends had a friend who was a friend of hers or something like that.

She wanted to find out who was attached to the "wicked sexy voice". We talked for a while here and there. I was trying to decide whether to go face down in the guacamole or put a lampshade on my head when she said her car wouldnt start (eh heh) and would I drive her a few miles to her house?

When I dropped her off she asked "Would you like to come in?". When we got in the door about 3 seconds later she said "Well? Are you gonna kiss me?".

Be nine years at the end of this summer. Married five years in august. Aiyee! Five years! I better make sure I remember this one...

Ya'll are making me jellous. Mine didn't last very long. My problem with meeting her was that she was behind a bullet proof glass - at a bank- and you had to speak to her with everyone in line behind you. So I handed her a note say "I think I love you; or at least your smile." Now that I think about it maybe my bank balance impresessed her more than my looks.

If it's any consolation, the traditional gift for the fifth anniversary is "wood"...

He didn't want to whip out the bacon on the first date...

As for me, I had known wife #1 since childhood. We hung out with the same people, and went to the same places (not hard to do in a small town), and next thing you know, ten years of torture wedded bliss...

Wife #2 worked at same employer as me. I wooed her with my charms... Apparently, I wasn't as charming a few years later...

Date 2. Roast cornish game hens with an orange glaze, wild rice and baby artichokes deep fried in olive oil IIRC. Eggs benedict with crispy fried proscuitto the next morning...

Besides, she seemed happy enough with the sexy voice thing. The main rule in sales is that when you have the order, stop selling.

We both worked for the same employer. First time I met him I told a coworker that now I knew what I really wanted for Christmas. There was a catch in that we were both otherwise committed. Bummer
Down the road 2 years with lots of water under both bridges and we finally got together. (I asked him to install a new faucet for me one Saturday afternoon). We went to a local jazz fest that night, kissed on the pier and the rest is history......We have been together 19 years and married for 18 months. We were both twice burned and in no hurry so we waited to get married until we were FIRE!
Third time really is a charm! He is the love of my life and my best friend.
