I'm just glad the amateurs didn't figure this stuff out first. That would be very embarrassing for the experts.

Retired in 2013 at age 33. Keeping busy reading, blogging, relaxing, gaming, and enjoying the outdoors with my wife and 3 kids (6, 12, and 13).

It's not clear why they got this splashy coverage on CNN, but there are quite a few of these optic "invisibility" devices around. The people working on this one marketed it to the press well, but the device itself is awkward and less impressive than some of the others. It's a great idea to use lenses, so perhaps the concepts can be adapted to make a more practical version.

I made it to the "invisible stage" of intoxication many years ago. Does that count? Remember the hangover the most vividly.
