120 on the Autobahn because we had a POS Vauxhall rental that started to bounce off the rev limiter at 120.

This is making me nostalgic for the good old days when the speed limit was 80 MPH, or at least we thought it was. My car rattled a bit at that speed.

About 115 on the freeway in a 1985 Oldsmobile until a passenger said, "You know, at this speed they don't give you a ticket, they arrest you and put you in jail." Dunno if he was right or not, but I slowed down.

120, country road, friend's 1977ish Mazda RX-4. It had no torque on the low end, but once you hit 20mph or so it took off like a rocket.

I got a ticket for going 94 in a 70 zone in Colorado. This was in a Renault LeCar.

My sons went to a concert together and were driving home late at night and the younger son was driving his brother's Toyota Yaris. He got it up to 104.

You actually drove 155mph on a public road? What car, what road?

135 on Montana interstate, about 10 years ago when there was no speed limit, 95 Maxima manual transmission.

110 in a Ford Windstar minivan. On a Montana road where I could see about five miles into the distance.

About 130 in my current BMW z3, on a city freeway (San Diego), at night (early morning). I was overdriving my lights, so my biggest fear was encountering a deer and/or hitting the speed limiter (136).

In a LeCar You must have been going downhill with a big tailwind

I'm not sure but I think the law is over 30 over and you go to jail. I think they can also take your vehicle. That may only be if you're racing though. I've only been over 30 over twice. Once went 105 in a 65 mph zone in a 90 Acura Integra. When test driving my current car I got up to 105-110 merging onto the highway before I realized I was going too fast. First time driving a turbo car. Didn't know a car could accelerate that fast since the most horsepower I ever had before then was about 140.

Wow, you guys are impressive! I have never been in a car going over 90 or so, and that was back in the 1960's. I became scared at about 90 even as a teenager.

130+ in an early 70's Dodge Charger, driving around the track at North Carolina Motor Speedway in Rockingham, NC (my home town). 120 mph plus a number of times in my life, mostly my teenage years, at various times on public roads & highways. Most recently, 120 mph a couple years ago in a rented Toyota Camry (4 cyl engine!) on I-10 in Arizona on the way to a school for the Air Force in Tucson. I even took a picture of the speedo with it pointing to 116 mph. You'd think that as I get older, my need for a little excitement in this area would diminish, huh? I'd never do it if there was any traffic at all. I've personally witnessed a spectacular crash of a vehicle going over 100 mph on I-20 in which the car became airborne, flipping & rolling several times in the air before crashing down in the median. They guy hauled ass up onto the back of an 18 wheeler, but when he tried to sling-shot around him, the truck attempted to change lanes at the same time, & that's when the guy's world went haywire.
