Remember the scene where they played a Victrola for a monkey? Like the monkey, it was the first time I had heard Mozart's Clarinet Concerto. I had to watch the closing credits to find out what it was so that I could go buy it. It remains one of my "desert island" pieces.
This is the best version I could find on YouTube. There are a lot of bad performances of this out there.

If you are going to buy one, check of the Neville Marriner version with Karl Leister.

Great one! I'll never forget seeing that movie for the first time. My mom and I went together to see it shortly after it opened. It was fantastic and it still blows me away to this day.

Two of my favorites are the main theme from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and its sequels and that mostly piano tune from "Goodfellas". The "Goodfellas" tune I refer to is the one played near the end of the movie when they were finding all the dead Mob bodies in the wake of the Lufthansa heist.

Which one is the "theme"?

Please note that songs listed here (and in the movie credits) cannot always be found on CD soundtracks. Please check CD track details for confirmation.
  • "Generique"</B>
Traditional folklore, played over opening titles
  • "A Felicidate"</B>
Written by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes
  • "Frevo"</B>
    Written by Antonio Carlos Jobim
    Played by brass marching band
  • "O Nosso Amor"</B>
    Written by Antonio Carlos Jobim
    Played frequently throughout the film
  • "Manha De Carnaval"</B>
    Written by Luiz Bonf
    (Morning of the Carnival)
  • "Scene Du Lever Du Soleil"</B>
    Written by Antonio Carlos Jobim
(The rising of the sun sceme)
  • "Scenes De La Macumba"</B>
    Traditional folklore
    (Macumba ceremony scene)
  • "Samba de Orfeo"</B>
Written by Luiz Bonf and Antnio Maria
  • "Batterie de Cappela"</B>
    Traditional folklore
It is interesting that "Generique" (during the opening titles) is the same (I think) as the music behind the Opening Credits for the TV Show, "Ghost Whisperer."
