You talkin' to me! ......my name? 1963 corvette coupe. Known by it's nickname Split Window. Only year there were 2 rear windows with strip of fiberglas and metal down the middle. Hard to see out so it was discontinued the following year. My husband and I like almost all old/collectible and have had lots of different vehicles from VW beetles to 1932 MG. Right now we're into corvettes.
Still loving the book cases!

Very Nice! Now all you need are dark paneled walls, a deep red oriental carpet and a big leather chair.
Cheers!

A friend of mine was quoted upwards of $50K for a custom wall shelf created for her new house. She gulped and said I think we have different concepts of what needs to be done.
We were later at a local art fair near the end of show and found a wood craftsman who was also selling his display fixtures that evening. We bought them, ran to the local TSC for furniture dollies and wheeled them out of there. The $50k concept was nicer than the $100 solution, but not 500 times as nice.

Thanks for all the compliments!
I had to rent a storage locker for all of DW's books (plus a few other things), so am glad to finally get rid of that monthly charge. And now it is time for decorating the room with a few comfy chairs, and an oriental rug. We already have an electric piano, an antique table and tiffany lamp for the space. DW has an iPad, but she is old school when it comes to reading books. She reads about 3 books a week.

Those are really awesome. I keep reading how eBooks are making bookshelves obsolete, but works of art like your shelves never will be obsolete.
BTW, for your next project, you might consider the 'hipster' version The ABC Bookcase Is Storage For Hipsters

This is one of the plusses for not downsizing when one retires. I will have to do something like this with the bedrooms that my children have vacated. With the extra rooms, I have a lot of options.

Three books a week is impressive reading. What a great job you did of fixing up the old reading lair!
